A sunny Saturday in late March, a perfect day for sowing seeds. Broad Beans, Rocket, Oriental Salad and Garlic were sown directly in the raised beds. Whilst in the small polytunnel Peas, Tomatoes, Chillies, Courgette, Coriander, Lettuce and Leeks were sown in module trays. Once the seeds have germinated and the seedlings have “true leaves”, they will be moved on. Either re-potted in the case of Tomatoes, Courgette and Chillies, or transplanted to the raised beds in the case of Leeks and Peas. Coriander and Lettuce will be transplanted inside the polytunnel. Hopefully the rain will look after the seeds in the raised beds but I will have to be responsible for watering the seeds in the polytunnel.
