After an incredibly cold April when there was frost almost every morning and even snow on some days, at last, mid-May we have signs of growth. I was beginning to despair that none of the seeds we’d planted would germinate and we’d have to start all over again, but the Potatoes are just beginning to pop through the soil, Onion shoots are also appearing but the star of the show has to be the Broad Beans. The tips of the shoots popped through the soil a couple of days ago and then there was a terrific growth spurt and you could almost see the plants growing before your eyes. Fingers crossed the cold weather has gone away for good and this warm weather will continue.
